Now is your turn to drive this little beauty! Its hard not to feel you are humming along an Italian mountain road when driving the Multipla. Maybe its the family in the car, off for a little holiday in the mountains. Since both front and rear bench seats fold flat, the wife and you could a little nap while the kids play at a rest along on the way. There are few cars to experience true Italian motoring. Ferraris and Lamborghinis always have their place, but the real stories, the real history came from the people's cars. The car starts right up and settles into idle quickly! She gets LOADS of attention, more than most exotic cars! The Multipla is extremely roomy and feels airy and relaxing. She paces traffic no problem and turns on a dime! And the rarity! I don't think I would be out of line to say this is one of a handful if not less unrestored, low mile Multiplas out there. Anyone with the will and a check can buy a restored Multipla. And further, anyone with the desire for headaches can buy a ratty unrestored car. But this Multipla is ready for ANY preservation class show out there. Get ready to line your shelves with trophies and your mind with memories in your stunning 600!
The Condition and Service:
Let's start on the engine and drivetrain:
-ENGINE
This engine comes to life with a turn of the key and a pull of the floor mounted starter switch without any drama. It warms up nicely and revs beautifully. The car cruises comfortably at 50mph+ and the engine has lots of pep!
-TRANSMISSION
The 4 speed transmission is in wonderful shape. The shifter eases into gear without any drama and has no grinds from the syncros!
-SUSPENSION
Rides very well, especially considering its vintage. No clunks or bangs.
-BRAKES
Confident pedal, great pressure with a firm positive stop.
-STEERING
Steering feels good, no excessive play or vibrations.
Let's continue to the exterior:
-PAINT and BODY
The paint is quite nice and shines wonderfully despite is age. It has that great preserved paint look and really looks the part. It has a wonderful earthy patina to it. Some little scratches, a few light dents in the front or some small chips all add to the stories, character and unrestored nature of the car. The floors are solid, no rot, so are the panels. Near totally rust free. Light oxidation near some chips and at high traffic areas and a couple very small bubbles which are solid underneath, not rot on the passenger side rear quarter (see pics below). Its totally solid metal just some very small paint pop. Light oxidation on underside as expected, no rot to be found
-WHEELS/TIRES
Original tires and wheels. No vibrations or flat spots on the tires! Light surface level cracks to be expected for their age, but very drivable none-the-less.
-BUMPERS and BRIGHT WORK
Shines wonderfully with no major flaws and very light patina.
-ROOF RACK
Great shape with only some minor chips, wood in great shape. Rubber has some drying of the outside from age, but it still quiet soft.
Onto the cabin:
-SEATS
ORIGINAL INTERIOR AND SEATS! The seats are in beautiful shape! No tears or wear! Rear seats in great shape with a minor stain from being folded for years against a metal part.
-DOOR PANELS
Fantastic original shape!
-STEERING WHEEL
The wheel is in great shape. Smooth, crack free and no fade.
Documentation/Tools/Manuals
This beauty comes with the original spare with original jack. Also included is the original tool kit, original manuals and spare NOS parts!
