Running and driving 1964 Chevrolet Impala sport coupe 283 c.i. V8
I purchased the car about 5 years ago and have done quite a bit of work to get it back on the road. It is not a show car and will definitely need some work including upholstery, some bodywork / paint and a new windshield. There is only one major area of rust I know of (other than surface rust) on the underside (see picture). Trunk lid is rusting on the inside and there are various chips, scratches, and bubbles in the paint. However, the car has good curb appeal and gets thumbs up where ever I got. It would be a great car for someone looking to drive it awhile and then undertake a restoration.
Things I have repaired or replaced:
· Transmission rear seal
· brake pads
· 1x wheel brake cylinder
· Brake master cylinder
· Rear hard brake lines
· All rubber brake lines
· Fuel tank (new one is stainless steel)
· Shocks (all four)
· Rear springs
· All suspension bushings front and rear
· Rear torque arms
· Adjustable rear track rod (to allow larger wheels)
· Wheels (Cragar 5 spokes)
· Fuel pump
· Clean and flush fuel pump system
· Rebuilt carburetor
· Rebuilt cylinder heads with hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel
· New push rods
· Points replaced with electronic ignition system
· Radiator repaired
· New radiator hoses and heater hoses
· Replaced water pump
· Replaced front seal in rear axle third member
· Alternator
· Voltage regulator
