Very nice 1969 Chevy Impala.
This car has been stored indoors for over 20 years in a climate controlled environment as part of a private collection. This car collection has had a care taker for years, running, driving and repairing the cars as needed, they did not just sit untouched. Collector is the founder and CEO of a major hot rod parts manufacturing company. He bought the car from the original owner in 1991. Car comes with several original purchase documents including the Protect-O-Plate in the Owner Protection Plan tri-fold in the plastic Chevrolet pocket envelope. Odometer shows 77k plus miles, i was told it's original mileage but do not have documents to support it. I would not be surprised by how nice and smooth it drives and rides.
This is wonderful car to collect, drive, use for movie rental, etc.
BODY
It shines and shows very nicely. It was repainted over 20 years ago and has been kept indoors since then and maybe it's whole life from the way is looks everywhere. All glass is great, windows crank up n down smoothly. No rust, or body imperfections showing, just a couple of small scratches in the paint. It looks great. Chrome is awesome, don't know if it was ever rechromed but looks that good. Headlights, tail lights, turn signals all work. Grill is awesome. Has the original hubcaps on like new tires. Pans and frame underneath are fantastic. Rubber gaskets on doors, trunk were replaced in the past and are like new. The trunk might the the best original trunk I've ever had. One spot of surface rust as shown in the photo other than that incredible. The spare tire and jack assembly are intact and very nice. Spare tire is like new bias ply. Overall, it's pretty awesome!
INTERIOR
Very nice interior overall. Seats are like new, headliner is fantastic and same for the matching visors. Door panels are in very good shape with no cracks or cuts. Woodgrain on drivers side has some scratches near the door handle. Carpet is very nice. Dash pad has one crack in it, other than that very nice. Gauge pod area is great and unmolested. AM radio works like AM radio. Door arm rests and pads are showing age w/plastic drying out and discoloration. Car comes with an original Benson Chevy Chevrolet headed key, rare for sure. Driving this is just a good 'ol Chevy from back in the day.
MECHANICAL
Very nice running 327ci with auto transmission. Starts, runs and drives great. Will start after sitting or after driving. Runs quiet with stock exhaust. Brakes are absolutely smooth with no pulse or pulling. A/C works perfectly. Completely original and untouched underhood. Battery tray is not even rusted. The one think i do know of is that what looks to be the original radiator needs attention. It will leak up at the top passenger corner when it gets hot. Other than that this car runs and drives smooth as can be.
Very nice car over all, with very little more it'd be an amazing vehicle.
