Lifetime accumulation of Sunbeam parts and my 1965 Tiger. Of all the Sunbeams I have bought and sold, owned and restored THIS is my "lady"! I found this "mess of a car" in 1994 by answering an ad titled "English parts car for sale". The seller's wife did not know much about the car except that after a decade she wanted it out of her yard! The owner had bought it for parts to complete an Alpine he had since sold.. He said "its a real mess" and when he removed the tarp I was amazed that it was a TIGER!! The engine was gone, the engine compartment was pretty-much stripped, the front-end was damaged, the wooden dash was broken but most of the gauges were still in-place. Lots of engine parts were stashed in the trunk. The soft top was missing but other that the front-end the body looked straight and rust-free.
One of the items in the trunk was an original chrome valve cover set.
I used parts from a Series IV to replace the damaged front, stripped and sandblasted the body, crafted a new wooden dash, and bought a nice 302 to connected to the original drive-train. WHAT A SWEET RIDE!!! After several years of enjoyment the old 4-speed let go and I have bought a tested T5, new flywheel and associated gear to replace it.
