1965 Factory Five Roadster Shelby Cobra
Up for sale is my 1965 Factory Five Roadster Shelby Cobra replica. The car was built in 2005 and was built to be a reliable driver and not a garage queen show car. The drivetrain is an EFI 4.6L DOHC from a 1996 Mustang cobra. Mileage is about 9800. Color is black with twin dark grey stripes. I recently installed a rebuilt short block with ported heads and intake. The engine was built by Dennis Mitchell from Mitchell racing engines.
I have about 100 miles on the rebuild.
The engine tune was done by a tuner in Florida using an SCT tuner. I have the tuner and several tunes provided by the tuner. I have a conservative tune installed to keep the car safe and reliable. The tuner and all tunes are available.
The engine is relatively quiet at idle or low RPM with a low rumble, but open it up and that 4 cam mod motor comes to life and sounds fantastic!
Recently installed new clutch, brakes, and rotors as well.
I installed 3 different sets of seats until I settled on the kirkey intermediates that I liked best. These offered the best combination of safety, space, and comfort. I wanted the safety provided by a high back seat vs the traditional low back seats. A cobra cockpit is not known for an abundance of space so the thin aluminum frame of these seats allows for the most space available for the driver. I also installed dual roll hoops to provide that protection for both driver and passenger.
The car was built to be reliable and has been extremely reliable since the day I first started it. The car is a driver so it has some normal wear, rock chips, etc.
