For sale this straight and rust free and great daily driving survivor of this very rare and original long time museum owned, 1962 Chrysler 300H Letter Series 2 door Hardtop Coupe with its original and highly desirable and legendary High Performance 413 CID 380 HP V8 Wedge-Type engine with its original dual Carter 4 bbl carburetors and legendary A-727 HD Torqueflite automatic push-button transmission; a car which was extremely powerful for its day and which would become the basis for a successful racing engine in Chrysler's future and cemented Chrysler's reputation for engineering great engines that would serve Chrysler well in various forms for the next 20 years. This is a superbly straight, rare and virtually completely stock surviving example of an obviously always garaged car with no signs of any accident damage and seemingly mostly all original paint with a completely straight and honest body with absolutely no rust. One of only 435 300H Letter Series coupes built in 1962 and marketed by Chrysler as quite simply 'America's most powerful car' and 'The High Performance Luxury Chrysler'.

An absolutely stunning looking car with its original wrap around front and rear picture window windshields and finished in this striking color combination with incredibly rare original leather power bucket seats in 'Tan' (Trim code 463) color with original perforations to allow breathing and with its original and matching plain natural leather headliner with beautiful original chrome headliner bows and the car is fully loaded with factory options including; full pile floor carpeting, original Push-button A727 'Torqueflite' transmission, Padded dash, Power Steering, Power brakes, Dual exhaust, original 'Golden Touch Tone' AM radio with Power Antenna, Heater and defroster, Power Front Seat Adjustments, Power Windows, Prismatic rear view mirror, Undercoating, Tinted glass, Electric clock, Exclusive exterior bright trim, full gauges and original Deluxe 300H hubcaps mounted on brand new whitewall tires.

Again, importantly this is a seemingly all original and stock surviving car which has its original 413/380HP V8 engine with its correct 1962 (2264877) special dual 4 BBL cast iron intake manifolds and original 'Carter' dual 4 BBL carburetors (3258S front & 3259S rear) and original legendary A-727 Heavy Duty Torqueflite transmission (#2205190) which replaced the earlier A-488 in 1962. The 3 speed Torqueflite was Chrysler's mainstay transmission from its 1956 introduction on the Imperial and was also sold to other luxury automakers including such European marques such as Facel-Vega and Jensen. The first Torqueflite automatic transmission was the revolutionary A-488 which was lauded at the time as being the best automatic transmission in the world but the most legendary Torqueflite model proved to be the A-727 which replaced the A-488 in 1962. Assigned to all V8 engines until 1964, heavy duty applications and trucks, the 727 used an aluminum case rather than the some 60 pounds heavier cast iron 488.

The original 'Festival Red' (Code PP1) color is seemingly mostly all original and in quite exceptional condition and the car has a beautiful all original Tan leather interior, which is now obviously showing its age a little, with a couple of small minor tears on the passenger seat etc, but this all original interior is remarkably complete and very presentable and we decided not to replace any of the original leather in order to preserve this cars remarkable originality and patina. This great daily driving 1960's Mopar is a perfect candidate for the Mopar enthusiast to drive and enjoy whilst restoring. The car will be sold complete with many original items including its original 1962 manuals and dealer brochures.
