1964 APOLLO GT 5000 ONE OF ONLY 76. STORED IN A WAREHOUSE FOR 35 YEARS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. RESURRECTED AND RESPRAYED TO ORIGINAL BRITISH RACING GREEN.
ORIGINAL BORRANIS WHEELS, INTERTIOR, ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN.
History:
An American dream, three young men out of college in the early sixties decided to build a car with Italian hand hammered steel body and leather interior with an American drivetrain. These three men, Milt Brown, Ron Plescia, and New't Davis of Oakland California persuaded Carrozzeria Intermeccanica of Italy to take three Buick Skylark rolling chassis, which were then modified and sent to Italy for the bodywork. The company, Apollo Motors of Oakland, California, had no money for marketing and only a single dealer in Northern California. The cars, however, were actually pretty good, being favorably compared to Aston Martins and Ferraris in contemporary road tests. Road and Track tests: 0-60 in 7 seconds, top speed 160 mph.
