Up for sale is an outstanding example of Chrysler's crown jewel. I don't even know where to begin! GORGEOUS 'Jungle Green' exterior (original color) with impeccable trim and chrome. Properly restored at some point we assume to factory perfection. Not a flaw anywhere, I'm serious. Straight and clean RUST FREE car. Super nice, correct reproduction wide white walls too!
The interior of this car is original and nearly perfect. Even the accessory floor mats we believe are correct as they have the Imperial logo on them. Just outstanding! Headliner, door panels and seat upholstery. Near perfect. The carpet is super nice too. Maybe not original (we can't tell for sure) but well suited and correct. I cannot stress enough now nice this car is. Inside and out.
Equipped with the second year Hemi powerplant. The 331 cubic inch which was called 'Fire Power' in the early 50's but is actually a Hemi unit. Also, this car is equipped with the super easy to use yet unusual 'Fluid Torque Drive' transmission. It's considered semi-automatic but I can tell you from experience, it's far more automatic than it is manual. Mechanically, this car is also trouble free and perfectly drivable. Nothing needed.
- HYDRAGUIDE STEERING ( A Chrysler first!)
- FLUID TORQUE DRIVE
- SOLEX TINTED GLASS
- 8 TUBE RADIO
- COMFORT AIR SYSTEM
- WHITE WALL TIRES (of course!)
Also equipped with POWER WINDOWS! We assume this was standard for the Imperial in 52. Three of the four work flawlessly on this car. The right front window hydraulics needs attention.
So here we have a car that's super affordable but would be right at home on a concourse show field. Not too often you come across that. Needs nothing but a loving new owner.
