Rare 70 base C/10 Suburban, yet equipped from the factory with a 350 V8, turbo 350 automatic, power steering and power brakes. To complete the 'essentials', it has a period aftermarket dealer installed working (yes, working and working very well) A/C. Original 'pink' slip (1 owner vehicle for decades), owners manuals, sales brochures, warranty manual, service records, jack and spare.
Remarkably solid, dry example with only two very small rust issues to note, 2" area on the passenger side inner rocker and another 2" area on the firewall (both clearly pictured in photo link below). Excellent floors, frame, sub frames, inner walls, kick panels, spare tire cavity, body panels, windows, doors, gate, rear hatch, gutters, etc (extensive pictures in the link below will better convey how rust free this one really is).
Motor runs fantastic with no issues (brief video of the motor running , idle with a/c on, included below). Starts up without hesitation every time, runs cool, and has great throttle response, lots of power for a sled this big. No smoke, no excessive oil leaks (nothing to the floor) and no exhaust leaks. New 'tucked' dual exhaust system from the manifolds back.
Transmission shifts seamlessly and solid, with no slipping, hesitation or noises
Geared for freeway, this sub drives nicely at 65mph with no freeway wander or loose steering.
5 lug front disc brake conversion/upgrade. Brakes are smooth, confident, and without issue.
Power steering is smooth and effortless.
A/C is remarkable. I really don't know the last time I saw one of these old units actually working, but this one does. It will freeze your knees!
All gauges, interior and exterior lighting, wipers, blowers, defrost, heater, blinkers, high and low beams, horn etc work.
Radio is original but does not work, may be a simple fix or even a missing dash speaker, but I haven't looked into it. ipod/mp3 sound system with sub woofer, amplifier and speakers all discretely fit neatly under the rear seat. Great sound with no cut panels, or unsightly new components contrasting this fully original 70 interior other than the control equalizer/volume unit under the dash cluster.
Original glovebox options list looks great and has so few items on it! Love the 'strippy' base model handyman look it has...almost like a government or industrial issue vehicle. This one didn't even come with a headliner! Can't you just picture it with a tackle box and vintage Coleman ice box in the back, with a couple fishing rods hanging in the side window?
Tires are new 225/75/r15 Hankook white walls. Spare is a very neat period correct Sears M&S.
Dropped on lowering springs, short shocks (front), shock relocates (rear), and C/notched. Remarkable ride with much more travel than it looks like it would have.
All original soft ray tinted glass in excellent condition. All 4 windows roll up and down on their tracks nicely. Rear hatch is one of the nicest surviving units I have ever seen. Tail gate is also extremely nice.
Patina is as good as it gets. Just enough age. Light bumps, scratches and dings, consistent throughout while at the same time, being very straight overall. The top is super straight with a perfect original contour, no dings, waves, rusted gutters, holes, etc (remarkably never even had a single CB antenna hole punched through it).
Rare truck, rarely optioned base model, rare in this condition, put a smile on your face everytime color combo of Dark Gold over Ivory with softray green hue factory glass....it's just too good.
