1965 Lotus Elan S2 Sportscar Manual 1600cc-105Hp

1965 is definitely the best year for the Elan. It has the Weber carbs not the Stromberg ones (hence no ugly hump in the bonnet) and has no frames on the windows (which go up and down with the scissor mechanism as they should). This car was substantially restored 10 years ago including the frame and entire suspension with all new bushings and all the control arms, etc. were replaced with new ones. It is all still fresh because the car gets limited use. This car drives really, really well. If an Elan is what you want, and you want to actually drive it. This is the car for you. I have installed electronic ignition and replaced the radiator (with a bigger one) and original fan (with an electric one) so that the car can actually handle a rush hour traffic jam in 90 degree heat. The engine has great power and the transmission shifts perfectly through all gears. In short, this is not a show car, but it really is a great driver. The paint still looks really good for 10 years old, but it is not perfect. The car has all the hard to find brightwork parts, a really nice Nardi steering wheel, and the interior panels and such is virtually brand new. Clean title.
