1980 Jeep Wagoneer 258 Automatic 4WD

For sale is a freshly refurbished, lovingly maintained, garage find 1980 Jeep Wagoneer! This Wagoneer was purchased new in 1980 by a doctor in South Carolina, where it lived until coming to New York in 1991. It was then used primarily as a vacation car until 2004, when the fuel tank was removed in an attempt by the owner to replace the sending unit, which was never completed. It was recently pulled from its 17 year garage storage, and extensively refurbished! This Wagoneer features the more rare 258 Inline 6, which was fully rebuilt at 100,000 miles; the current milage is 108,750. The engine is basically new! This was later known as the 4.2 Liter and has an excellent reputation for reliability, and longevity. In the course of the restoration process this jeep received a new fuel pump, a carburetor rebuild, new intake/exhaust gaskets, a new sending unit, a new muffler, and tailpipe, new front floor pans, new lower rear quarter panels, new passenger area carpet, and new Goodyear tires! The fuel tank was removed, cleaned, and reinstalled. The entire undercarriage was cleaned to bare metal (10 hours labor) and repainted to protect this Wagoneer for years to come. The interior floors, as mentioned, received driver and passenger floor pans, while the rest of the floor was cleaned to bare metal, and repainted. With exception of the new carpet, the interior is all original and in excellent condition. The paint features a light, appealing patina, and has been polished to a beautiful gloss. The rear tailgate window operates smoothly. This Wagoneer has working dealer-option locking front hubs. All original literature is present, and an extensive service history is included as well!
