Amazing little Vintage 1955 Airstream Flying Cloud that has been polished to a mirror finish offered for sale at NO Reserve. RARE Whale-Tail with a GREAT floor plan- see pics! The rear twin bed set-up with front sofa/original pull-out trundle is awesome. This little beauty draws a crowd everywhere she goes! If you don't like attention this is NOT the trailer for you... and if you're in a hurry, be prepared to spend some extra time because everyone wants to see inside and take pictures. This Airstream came from Los Angeles, CA . It is like a little time capsule- SO COOL!! It's 22' long from hitch to bumper, weighs approx. 2650 lbs and has a hitch weight of 275 lbs. according to factory specs, but has probably had some things done over the years that may change that a bit. It has been kept in wonderful condition and rarely seen the road, the body is amazing- I've seen Airstreams that are only a few years old with far more dings and scrapes from road-wear, this little coach is a true survivor. Take a look at the pictures, it's like a little museum. Even the original mattresses are in amazing condition- look at the date on the picture of the mattress tag- I think the 5 year warranty from Airstream has expired ; ) The "Dixie" stove is too cute, super clean, and even the porcelain sink looks good! To see these things, in this wonderful original condition after 62 years is just plain cool.
All new exterior lighting, to include lights/bulbs/wiring and has a modern 7-round plug. New hitch, and upgraded to a 2 5/16" ball with safety chain hooks. New tires a few months ago, and tows great. All glass is in great shape, windows work, but seals are original and needs a couple of cranks. All 3 roof vents function well and seem to seal well enough that there is no sign of roof leaks now or in the past- this still has the original Zolatone paint and it's in good shape. There are a few streaks near some windows, the rubber seals need replacing, the front window is in perfect shape and works/looks like new (those are hard to find) but at some point was either left open or leaked on a corner and the little storage shelf has some water damage. The floor and tile are original, tile is coming up in some spots and is just generally ugly- but I guess considering its age, it's in pretty good shape. I would replace it, subfloor seems solid, no squishy spots, but the rear "trunk" area has seen better days, doesn't appear to be water damage, but is dry and brittle in the very back corners. All of the electric lights work inside, I didn't have bulbs for one weird fluorescent type fixture that may be from the 70's (??) and the 2 small ones in the front. At some point someone installed a modern water pump, but the wiring isn't hooked up, neither is the "electric flush" toilet (yeah, new to me too, but was probably the greatest thing in it's day). If you're looking for a very clean, well kept Vintage Airstream with a great body, lots of "cool factor", original components, and VERY worthy of having someone finish up what needs to be done and you're not afraid of a little work- this might be the one for you.
