Restored, 1941 Harley-Davidson FL (1st year for the 74 cu.in. Knucklehead motor)The frame, motor, transmission, complete rear wheel, brake system, and a few more parts are all from original bike.
What is not original: The cloth wiring harness, coil, horn, right side gas tank, battery ( It is a 6 volt looking original case, but has a 12v Battery inside it). The system was changed to 12 volt in 1982 after I made a trip to the smoky mountains. The system is made to look like a 6 volt system down to the generator, has a model 32E tag on it. Another difference, the primary system is belt driven instead of the chain (that was changed in the 80's also).
I have the 6 volt generator (it was chrome platted in 79/80, same with all the parts) It should still be good.
The springer front end is NOS. Friend of mine bought it in 1982 from a Harley dealer, new, never used or mounted (still has the Harley ID tag on the neck, I put clear tape over it so the grease wouldn't hurt it. It is still on the neck) the handle bars, spirals, etc. came from him also. The speedo is a reconditioned (same as new, all Stewart-Warner parts used in the repair) all Original speedo.
