1985 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 300CD Turbo Diesel W123

1985 was the last and best year Mercedes built the gorgeous W123 series 2 door coupe. The 300CD diesel coupe was made from 1978 until 1985 and only from 1982 -1985 with the turbodiesel version. Only 8007 of these wonderful cars made it to the US.
My car is finished in Cabernet Red (MB color code 587) with Beige (MB color code 155) MB-tex interior. It is a stunning color combination as the many pictures will show. I can not drive this car a whole day without somebody approaching me about it or just giving a thumbs up. This 300CD really stands out.
The body is straight and the paint is in wonderful condition. I just had it detailed and the color really shines like on a much newer car. There are no dents or dings and after 35 years of careful use only a couple of very small scratches which are hard to notice. The interior is very clean as well. There are no strange odors and the seats are still firm. Even the wood pieces are still in nice shape.
But the best thing about this car is the way it drives. It has always been well maintained and it really shows. It always starts up and it has plenty of power in town and on the freeway. We just had it fully serviced last month, including all the fluids and filters. The valves were adjusted to factory specs. The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears , even when the car is cold. The AC has been converted to the R134 freon and it blows nice and cold. A new power antenna has been installed as well and it works well. All the windows and the sunroof work as well. The tires have less than 5k miles on them. I drove the car last month on a 350 mile trip one way and without any kind of problems and i would not hesitate taking it on a trip across country on short notice. It is the very rare kind of classic car you can actually reliably drive every day.
