1980 International Harvester Scout II 4WD with Automatic Transmission.
This is a very original Scout - believed to be numbers matching throughout. The odometer shows just under 85k miles. I have over $9,000 in receipts over the past nine months, including rehab to the original 345 V8, and a new 6-point roll cage installed at local four wheeler specialist.
The truck drives straight and is ready for conversion to an off road beast, if you are so inclined. As it sits today, it is a very solid, original and nice-to-drive classic truck on brand new BFG All Terrain tires. As classic truck values go, the Scout is the next Bronco - especially those in very original condition like this example.The Bimini Blue metallic paint is in excellent condition with minor patina on the hood.
All four wheels and the spare are the rarely seen originals that came with the Scout. Check the Line Sheet included in the gallery for other original details. The truck remains very original save the addition of stripes, the roll bar and the new interior that replaced the original blue vinyl.
The hard top is included with the sale and pictured below in matching body blue paint. It fits nicely over the roll bar and I can install it prior to delivery/pick-up if the buyer prefers. The interior is re-finished in tan weatherproof vinyl, and I installed a new marine grade stereo with four new speakers. The original stereo unit remains in the dash as it was shipped from the factory in order to maintain the originality of the Scout. Weather proof rubber covers all flooring.
Most importantly, the undercarriage.... must be seen to be appreciated. Very solid throughout. Its a touch dirty under there, but floor and body panels are solid throughout. Every mechanic who has seen this truck on a lift has noted that it is the nicest one in original condition they have ever seen.
All body panels are solid and there is NO evidence of accident damage or quick bondo repairs.
