1978 Datsun 620 Pickup 40,697 Actual Miles. This pickup was purchased new by a local businessman. He bought it for his wife. She drove it for 31 years, and only put 26,654 miles on it. In 2008 the truck went to an estate auction, where I was the winning bidder. I then took it to my mechanic for new fluids and a full tune-up. I also had him do a carb kit and install a new choke. I purchased this truck in 2008 I am the second owner. I have been driving it in the summer months, and have put about 15,000 miles on since then. The mileage now reads 40,697. The paint had faded to kind of a Mary Kay pink. I pondered long and hard about leaving it original, but opted to return it to it's former glory. It now has a base-coat, clear-coat, in original color. It's not Pebble Beach Concourse quality and it has a few rock chips, but it looks very nice.
Other then the paint, the only other thing I've done to it, was to add a Pioneer Super Tuner/ CD player, with new speakers. The original mounting holes were used for speaker installation so as not to alter the truck. The original Hitachi A.M. radio is still in the dash, It works fine but is disconnected from the speakers.
The original spare tire has never been on the ground.
Other then the paint, and stereo, everything else on the truck is original and unrestored.
This truck has never been used to haul things, it's never had a dent in the box.
The truck is and always has been rust free ( see photo of floor pan)
The interior has very light wear, no dash cracks, floor mats and seats are in very good condition. No rips in the headliner.
Glass is all good, but I need to mention that the windshield has a repaired rock chip on the passenger side. Although it's been repaired you can still see it a little bit.
This truck has the L20, 2 liter motor, known for being near bulletproof. It also has the optional 5 speed transmission, it will handle freeway speeds easily.
The clutch and transmission work perfectly.
It comes with all the original papers and is in DRIVE ANYWHERE CONDITION. Has a brand new battery.
This truck is not a show car, trailer queen, but is pretty amazing.
