1979 Chevrolet K-20 with less than 33,500 Original miles. Only one owner and was used sparingly with a camper and to tow a fishing boat; never used as a work truck. The picture of the condition of the bed speaks volumes as to the originality and condition. Hard to tell that this is a 40 year old truck! This truck is an amazing find.
This 1979 K-20 is a Bonanza series (Option YG7, package "B") which was a marketing tool used by GM to package equipment into a group. Basically a Scottsdale equipped truck with chrome trim, deluxe grill, tinted glass, cargo light and the optional clock, tilt wheel, intermittent wipers, and A/C. See SPID label for additional options. Has manual windows and locks. Lots of documentation comes with the truck including original sales brochure.
Completely original paint that has a great shine. Absolutely zero rust...
Born with a 350 engine, at 29k miles the owner had it replaced with a new 454. At that time the radiator was replaced with a new aluminum unit w/ twin electric fans. Starts effortlessly, shifts properly, stops and steers like new. This truck runs amazing!
With the exception of the radio (new "retrosound" that required NO cutting) the alternator, master cylinder, shocks, radiator, the A/C compressor, together with the entire A/C system, was brought up to date and converted to 134 Freon. The rest of the truck is stock; right down to the bench seat that is in terrific condition.
There is a brand new Goodyear spare tire in the proper location, as are the jack and tools that the truck came equipped with.
The interior shows little to no wear, just a couple of aftermarket speakers in the front doors (probably installed in 1980...) that have matching grills that actually looks factory. A coverlay dash cap was dyed the proper color and installed over the factory dash that had cracked. Visors, door panels, carpet, all handles and trim are original.
The entire truck looks like it led a pretty pampered life. Everything works as it should. I am amazed at how the windows and doors open and close with ease and smoothness. At first glance people think that the truck was restored, it's that nice! Clean title.
You could drive this truck cross country without a second thought.
