If those don't sound like your kind of camping, we have the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge just east of us and it’s 402,000 acres of adventure! The Apalachicola National Forest is just a skip away to the southwest and it’s 632,890 acres! They provide water and land-based outdoors activities such as off-road biking, hiking, swimming, boating, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and off-road ATV usage.

If you’re looking to see a beach that doesn’t see many, St. George Island is a personal favorite.

The Suwannee River is 246 miles of some of the best backcountry canoeing opportunities in the state. Visitors can see cypress trees, southern magnolia, herons, American coots, turtles and hawks. The park is open year-round.
