This is a 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Rampside Deluxe pickup truck. It was rescued out of a field where it had sat since the 1970's.
Wiring harness is all new including the fuse box
Entire fuel system including tank and sending unit has been replaced as well as the carburetors being rebuilt
Motor was checked out, then re-sealed so no leaks
Trans was inspected and fluid was changed out
Brake system has been completely replaced, only thing from 1961 is the pedal
-converted to dual master cylinder
Seat was re-foamed and recovered with the correct 1961 fabric and new vinyl
Replaced the driver side arm rest and added a passenger side
New lights all the way around and used LED bulbs for the tail lights
Aftermarket wheels wrapped in Michelin Premier A/S tires
New spare tire with original wheel. (4 other FC wheels are included)
Gem Top Topper included in the sale, we picked this up on the trip from a friend and used it to camp in and have a cover for our stuff. Made just for the rampside and has a sliding side door and rear door
Included but not on the truck is a clarks deluxe heater kit, heater box, door weatherstripping, right side vent window weather strip kit, misc hardware for door panels. Comes with an entire set of repair manuals, Corvair books, assembly manual, vair tips booklets, and corsa books
The mileage states 52,xxx miles but the speedo cable broke a few days before we left on the trip. I have the exact mileage of the trip though so it can be added to the odometer.
Truck has not been painted, clear coated or anything else, since it has come out of the field it has been washed a couple of times and I used a cleaner wax to get rid of the film of dirt and oxidation from 30 plus years in a field
If you are looking for a certain look but want something you could road trip across the country then this truck is it. This truck successfully made our road trip and will do it again and again. (I would of course carry a few spare items and tools) it never left us stranded or in a bind. Only issue we had was a new fuel pump failed, it has been replaced, and generator stopped charging, it has also been replaced and the original generator we started with has been rebuilt and comes with the truck as a spare. Both of these items can be converted to modern equivalents though.
I have been all through this truck and will do my best to answer any questions you might have.
