-1962 Jensen-Built Volvo P1800
-055832 Miles on Odometer
-4 Speed M41 Transmission with Overdrive, RWD
-4 Cyl. B18D Engine which is numbers matching according to the handwritten Volvo production records.
-Twin Weber 40 DCOE carburetors
-Mallory Unilite Distributor, and Promaster coil.
-No fluid leaks, dry underneath, seals still holding up well after rebuild.
-Black Exterior, in good condition. Car underwent a bare-metal re-spray when it was restored in 2001. Some spots showing age and a couple bubbles but car is super straight and very glossy. Solid, rust free western car prior to restoration.
-Car was completely disassembled at time of restoration, with most parts needing attention being rebuilt or replaced with NOS parts.
-Red Leather interior with panels sourced from Veteranprodukter, in great condition, just "spruced" up last fall. Has the correct fish-scale paneling on lower doors and kick panels. Wilton wool carpet from Don Thibault was used on the floors and hat tray.
- Original glass and trim in good condition overall, some items were replaced, others were polished. Original windshield, some glass and trim showing some minor pits and age.
-Car has always been garaged. Routine maintenance and service performed since restoration. Always starts and drives well, very reliable.
-Factory steel wheels and caps included with Dunlop SP40 tires mounted. Panasports are in excellent condition. Continental Sport Contact CH series tires appear to be in good condition, no visible dry rot. However, date coded 2003.
- All suspension components were replaced with OEM pieces from GCP in Sweden.
- Full stainless exhaust from manifold back.
- Completely new cloth braided wiring harness front to rear.
- Only non-functioning items are horns (in place, but un plugged; can be hooked up at buyer’s request) and radio (in place and functional with antenna, but no speaker installed).
-Selling as part of my private collection, not interested in trades please. No help needed in selling.
-This Volvo has been a true pleasure to own and drive. I have used this car on many long distance trips with no issue and complete confidence. The Webers and Mallory ignition really wake the B18 engine up, and give the car excellent tractability in traffic and on the interstate allowing for effortless cruising at modern Interstate speeds. I have owned this car for a few years now and it has never let me down and has been by far the easiest vintage car I have owned. I would really like to see it go to a fellow Volvo enthusiast who appreciates the rarity of this car and who will continue to use the car as it was intended.
It had an older thin layer of undercoat when purchased , another coat of undercoating (brewer coat) was applied in 2001 after restoration.
The noticeable Bubbles are in the rear quarter fender arches. Driver side has a about 6, passenger side has about 3 in the arch, but several where the pass quarter meets the rocker. Rocker has no bubbles.
The car was sprayed with Spies Heckler Base coat clear coat. The black base coat is a Mazda Brilliant Black ( drawing a blank on code# but found on 1993 Miata LE).
Body work was minimal for these cars in my opinion. The pass outrigger/jack point was replaced. Both lower rear quarters had a bout 2in of new metal put in. They made a buck to shape the trunk better, which is why it has such good gaps. The mil gauge reads 7-22 allover very small sections of INF found in the quarters.
Thanks for looking!
