1971 Citroen SM Original Condition

A superb unrestored two owner 30,000 mile SM in a rare colour with SS valves.

Mileage recorded is 30,000 miles genuine mileage from new. Has incredible original interior with virtually no wear, even the instrument needles are bright orange, as new. This car has lived under cover at all times for this to be possible.
Technically this car is remarkable, the transmission for example is rifle bolt like in action, like new, and the car stays up on its suspension overnight, you simply don’t find these traits on other SMs.
Additional fog lights and a Maserati trident under the headlamp glass cluster. Is in excellent rust free condition, including the usual A post and screen channel rust areas which all appear factory fresh and sharp. Panel fit is excellent, shut lines are even and this SM is finished in her original and rare delivery colour of vert des tropiques, a colour only available on 1971/2 model year cars.

Paint finish is excellent. The chassis is in excellent condition, with factory undercoating throughout, and areas such as the vulnerable front valance are without damage.
The glass is all unmarked, the stainless trim all complete and generally in excellent condition, apart from some pitting to the chromed door handles.
The engine has the recommended stainless valve upgrade and has just benefitted from the fitment of electronic ignition. The carbs are in perfect tune and the car starts immediately hot or cold and makes plenty of power.

The transmission is in like new condition with perfect synchros and the whole car has a very tight feel to it, which you can only get with an unrestored car.
We have just changed the oil and filter; it has a new battery and exhaust system, and rides on correct Michelin XWX tyres with good tread.
Interior
This is the quality we all want but is so rare to find. In unrestored condition the grey cloth upholstery has not one mark and everything operates with a new feel to it; the door pockets for example are unused. Quite superb!
