1972 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA 1.6 SUPER
Remarkable example of the most desirable classic Alfa sport sedan.
Superb overall condition, very original, always rust free, recent professionally rebuilt motor, many detail upgrades, new interior upholstery.
Rare and interesting color combination, excellent in all regards, starts, runs, drives like new.
This 1972 Alfa Romeo 1.6 was sourced from an incredible private collection in northern Italy and imported by us into the USA just 3 years ago. The car has many detail upgrades including a complete brake job, new tires, Koni Red shocks, Alfaholics lightened driveshaft, new seat upholstery, axle drop straps etc., and fully sorted the car. This car is ready to fully enjoy, mechanically A1 in all regards.
The paintwork is in remarkable condition and the car has never had any structural rust or rust repair. Truly an excellent example.
This Giulia Super sports a rare factory original “Faggio” (sienna brown) exterior and a beautiful “Chingiale Maremma” saddle tan interior with new seat upholstery. Dash, door panels, interior trim, headliner etc. are all in very good condition.
The (original) engine has only 3,000 miles on a complete engine-out rebuild and runs like new. Dual Weber carburettors and ignition are fully sorted. Transmission shifts smoothly, synchos are basically good with typical slight Alfa notchiness on 2nd gear only, and clutch is in in good working order. No issues or quirks, starts and drives like a classic Alfa should.
1972 was an excellent year for Giulias as all of the significant interior and mechanical upgrades to the series are included, 4 wheel, dual-circuit disc brakes, 5-speed transmission, revised dash and interior, top hinged pedals etc. The Super 1.6 engine features dual Weber carbs, 101 HP and very strong torque rating of 119 lb-ft, so it is a delight. The well balanced chassis and light weight make the Giulia a superbly fun car to drive.
Giulias have always been sought after by collectors, but there is a renewed interest with the recent introduction of the all-new Giulia from Fiat-Chrysler.
Sound, largely original examples are very rare, especially so for cars without rust and rust repair issues.
Comes with original Milano Italian plates, various historic documents and original paperwork. A beautiful, super fun car, that is easy to own, ready to enjoy and likely to appreciate considerably … in short, everything a vintage Alfa buff could want.
