First off, this car is as original as your going to find. The paint appears to be all original with the exception of the top part of the body right at the base of the rear window. It looks to have been blended to about midway down from that point. Looks fine. I'm not a paint expert. The body has it's shares of dings, chips, brush touched and scratches. There is minimal rust way way down low behind the rear wheel. and some on the rear valance below the rear bumper. Some minor corrosion behind the wheel well, and rocker chrome. I dont have the heart to fix it. It is in such nice original condition. See pictures. The glass is perfect! Even that huge rear glass! PERFECT! Chrome is very nice. All lights work, horn, dash lights etc! The rest of the paint is very nice. I polished it last spring and still looks fantastic. Remember these cars weren't perfect even new from the factory.

The interior is unbelievable! It has that simulated wood steering wheel that is near perfect! The seats and carpet and headliner are all 100% factory excellent shape. The interior carpeting has been always covered and is in mint shape. The carpet under the big rear window is mint. a bit sun faded but still mint! As well as the trunk area carpet too. It too was kept under rubber mats. See pictures. The headliner is perfect. The dash is excellent. All chrome on the dash, the gauges, are crisp and clear. All the dash lights work and glow beautifully at night time. All gauges work. The A/C unit, when turned on, lights up an aqua color that is very cool! It needs charged. The dash pad is a bit faded but very nice. The Valiant radio works and changing stations is a breeze. The rear seat folds down as well as the trunk wall. Very cool!!

The engine is a 225 Slant six cylinder. The transmission is a three speed manual. I've read that 90% of the Barracudas in '64 where 273 V8's and either a push button Automatic or a four speed manual. I cannot find any info on 3 speed standards that this car has. A V8 and four speed would of been nice, but it is what it is. And I love it!

As far as work I've done to it...A new gas tank and sending unit, Complete tune up. Points, plugs, cap, rotor, wires. Rebuilt carb and my mechanic went through the brakes. Only did what it needed., he also installed a new master cylinder. I put on a new water pump and fuel pump. I have 4 new tires ordered for it. Whitewall Radial 13's. I will install them when I get them. The tires on it now are old. The wheel covers are very neat! They are a magnesium type rally cover with factory chrome lug nuts. The radiator should be cleaned out. I didn't do this. Brain Fart on my part. Temp runs about 3/4 when hot, but has never over heated. The water pump had a rotted propeller or two. The heater core is by passed. I have a new on in the box. I'll put in the trunk. Exhaust is quiet. She rides down the road very smooth. Hard to hear it running!

Overall this is a true time capsule that's been very well cared for and loved. It is 52 years old. Shows some age. Don't expect a perfect restored show car. Expect a nice clean "Survivor" with flaws. I found the build sheet and I have some original receipts. Not a lot but enough.
