1964 Chevy K10 4x4 ½ ton Pickup
This is one clean straight excellent running/driving truck. One of if not the best 60’s 4x4 I’ve ever driven. This is a super easy project for anyone. The mechanicals are excellent, just needs cosmetics.
Very hard to find an un-restored truck this clean even in my dry desert areas, this truck impressed me so much .
This is a factory 4x4 K truck. I’m told the miles are original to the truck, not flipped over.
This truck gives excitement to what I call the analog driving experience, very easy to operate, fun to drive something you have to actually drive instead of modern cars that are beginning to drive themselves.
MECHANICAL
The motor is a rebuilt small block 327. It has a 4 barrel carburetor and ram-horn exhaust manifolds.
The suffix code on the block is “HC” which is listed as 1965 327.
Truck runs great, motor is in the 300HP range. Manual 4 speed transmission shifts excellent, transfer case and 4x4 work great. This year truck is basic, still retains the drum brakes and no power steering.
I was blown away about how well it steers and stops. My 115LB wife had no problem driving this truck.
Tires are 90%, exhaust has a nice sound to it, but not loud.
BODY
The body is in incredible condition for a 52 year old truck. Extremely straight, only very minor rust I could find are some bubbles at the bottoms of both doors (pictured well).
This truck needs very little body work, any paint shop will be ecstatic about doing this one.
The body and doors line up excellent, 1 finger open/shut.
The wood in the bed is original to the truck. The truck needs cosmetic things here and there, all easy stuff for anyone slightly mechanically inclined. The paint is 20 years old.
I drove this truck 50 miles to check out the major components, smiles ear to ear.
I have checked all the fluids, I have not checked every bulb etc.
You can fix this truck up as you enjoy it, this is a perfect candidate for a full frame off resto, but I wouldn’t do that, just basic stuff and enjoy.
