1969 Subaru 360 pickup truck FOR SALE
This little truck has been restored to a very nice driver/show truck.
It's not a concourse restoration, but it's rust-free, very clean and shows very nicely. Some tasteful (I think) mods have been made to the inside and outside, but nothing to ruin the cuteness or original appeal of this vehicle.
This truck has very low miles (3706) which I believe to be correct.
Engine is original, complete and stock. Runs great, starts every time. Tune up was done. Carb rebuilt. New repro muffler installed.
1st gear notchy (no syncro there) but always goes in. Not a bad idea to take a closer look at some point.
Brakes: master cylinder and all wheel cylinders sleeved and rebuilt. New brake hoses. Stops as expected.
Interior: redone with fresh upholstery, door cards and headliner. Since I didn't paint the truck the original color, it's done in black with blue piping to match the new exterior color. Seat belts original with refreshed webbing.
Steering wheel and shift knob are from a Subaru 360 Sedan "S" model. Looked cool so I kept them.
Original dealer installed SAAB radio was working, probably a loose wire. Gauges work correctly.
Exterior: is a 1969 color from AMC Javelin called "Big Bad Blue". Somehow appropriate. The paint job is beautiful, with just a couple of tiny nicks (I do drive it around).
Lights work, hub caps are original and rechromed along with the bumpers and overriders. Emblems are good, and repro factory stickers have been replaced throughout (nice touch).
There is a bit of overspray underneath (see pictures), but easy to clean up.
Air horns came with it and are functional. So is the wimpy original horn. Your choice which to use!
Three additional roof marker lights were installed by previous owner (he was going for the "micro mac truck" look), and they work so I kept them.
Original stalk mirrors were missing, so we closed one hole and kept the radio antenna on the other side. "Peep" mirrors have been added to the doors (see pictures).
Headlights work sometimes, switch or contacts might need some cleaning. Brake lights and turn signals work, reverse light doesn't (might just not be connected).
New tubes and real 10" whitewall tires (not portawalls!)
Side gate works as intended. Chrome bolts used as a finishing touch on the engine lids.
Window cranks have broken end pieces, this is pretty common with Subaru 360's. The cranks work fine.
Two keys are included.
