1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Survivor! Only 52K original miles. Original condition, Carnival red w/Oxford White vinyl top, red vinyl interior, 390 V-8, C-6 Automatic, AC, PS, PDB, AM/FM Stereo, Tilt away steering wheel and Styled Steel wheels. Everything works! Great driver!
It has been repainted very long ago but still is very presentable for a driver. There is evidence of a collision repair done very long ago. It appears the left front fender and apron were replaced .
The floors and trunk are solid and the only apparent rust seems to be limited to slight bubble up in the lower quarters.
The engine was rebuilt in 2003 and the two barrel intake manifold was replaced with a four barrel and a performance camshaft was installed. It runs very well! The front suspension has also been rebuilt utilizing factory ford parts as the decals are still present on the components.
This car is very original and a true survivor. Some markings are still visible on the rear axle. I have the original window sticker and a good amount of documentation. It's a great driver and shows well as it is or a great start to a higher level project. 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Cougar. This car is very similar to Cougar #1. It was a 1967 that is Red with White vinyl top and 390 as well!
