2014 Forest River 28VFK Work & Play Toy Hauler. (VFK) is v-nose - front kitchen. This toy hauler is built like a tank and is beautiful inside and out. 28 foot interior model, good size, still easy to tow. The “V-Nose” design tows beautifully because of its obvious aero-dynamic design. The outside is solid exterior plywood covered in a coating of Fiberglass gel-coat, in the upgraded champagne color. This is not the cheap aluminum siding exterior that you see many times. It has an Aluminum roof that should be trouble free for a very long time.

Very comfortable, even for extended trips, my wife and I have used this with our Harley Davidson Road Glide touring bike on many great get away trips. This RV has NEVER had a smoker in it. There is no better way to travel, if you want to take your bike, ATV, golf cart, side by side, etc. and your vehicle, and pull your fully functional living quarters along when you travel, this is the ticket.

This unit cost over $44k in 2014 and my asking price locally is well below the average used value for this model as listed in the NADA RV Guide. When you lower the bed down to the level that you are comfortable with, kids (or who ever) can sleep in the lower convertible queen sized bed. This lower bed converts to two full face to face coaches that you can also put the dining table (included) in between for meals, card games, etc. This toy hauler has the optional (a 3,000.00 option) happi-jac electric bed with dual sofas. This electric bed uses the standard queen sized residential mattress. The mattress is brand new, and in sealed plastic. The standard queen sizing is nice, because it is a true queen larger sized bed, and uses standard queen bedding purchased at any store, it is not the limited and expensive smaller “RV queen size” bed. There is also a fold out coach to a full size bed in the main front kitchen area.

This RV has two 30 gal propane tanks, we cooked all summer and used the heat a few times in Dec. and we are still on the first tank. The refrigerator and the hot water heater can run off of propane or electric, the refrigerator has an auto button that uses electric, but senses if there is no electric, to use propane for refrigeration so the refrigerator stays cold while traveling of self-contained camping. The two burner stove and the furnace are both propane only. It has a deep stainless steel sink with a very attractive smoked tempered hinged glass cover. The gas cook-top also has that same matched glass cover – very sharp looking!

This RV has a great floor plan. The kitchen is very big and open by virtue of it’s “v-nose” design that wraps around the entire front of the RV. The bathroom is huge by rv standards with a sit down molded in seat. This RV also has a ducted Air conditioning/heating system that will freeze you out in even the hottest weather. The rear cargo/bedroom has the lift up/pull down hidden screen, this is a very important option (490.00 option) when there are nice nights, you can sleep with this screen down, and the cargo rear ramp door open.

The TV entertainment set up on this rig is really nice. I am a video audio guy by nature. The (4) front and rear speakers have been upgraded to Polk audio speakers just a few months ago. The sound improvement difference is significant. The stereo was also updated at that time, with a Pioneer fully blue tooth compatible upgraded unit. You can play music from just about any source you desire. There are TWO HD TV’s. - a 39” Magnavox in the main kitchen area, and a 32” Sony Bravia in the rear bedroom. There is also a Sony DVD Blu-Ray play that has the wireless streaming amps and USB port, so you can watch Netflix, Amazon, You Tube, MLB network, etc. Both TV’s are on swivel mounts, so they can be adjusted for any viewing angles. All items including the stereo have remotes. The main 39” TV has the upgraded signal booster for local channel viewing.

The rear loading ramp goes down, and doubles as an extended party deck supported by two (included) stools. I have watched many a football games from the HD Sony TV on the reclining chairs out on this deck, This is one of my favorite features of the rig - pretty neat! The storage for this RV is the most we saw in its size range. One huge 5 foot (triple) wardrobe cabinet with very large drawers and cabinets underneath (large enough for our riding boots). Bathroom also has many cabinets and large vanity area. Cabinets are with the optional upgraded real wood doors in cherry finish, we also added a matching cherry wood half moon table in the rear bedroom. The bathroom has brushed nickel towel bars and toilet paper holder, the toilet is porcelain – NOT plastic as in cheaper RV’s .
